A talk with WhatsApp AI — I call him/her as Dost

Today on July 9, 2024, i had a talk with Meta AI integrated with WhatsApp on a real problem of my mobile phone.
My mobile phone doesn’t provide the correct current location. Often, i land up in troubles due to this faulty behavior of the device. So i thought to discuss this problem with Meta AI integrated with WhatsApp. Please go through the conversation given below, and you will surely be amazed how fantastically it responded to my queries and talks. 👍

[09/07, 4:39 am] Dr Vishnu: _🙏 *Good Morning* 🌷_
[09/07, 4:39 am] Meta AI: 🌞 _Good Morning_ 🌻! May today bring you joy, peace, and prosperity! 🙏 How can I assist you on this lovely day? 🤗
[09/07, 4:39 am] Dr Vishnu: Do you know this phone ? Model etc
[09/07, 4:39 am] Meta AI: I am not able to identify a specific phone model without additional information. There are numerous mobile phone models available from various brands like Apple, Samsung, Google Pixel, Oppo, and Vivo ¹ ². Please provide me with more details or specifications about the phone you're referring to, and I'll do my best to assist you in identifying it.
[09/07, 4:40 am] Dr Vishnu: This one is Samsung M52 5G

- Thickness: 7.4mm
[09/07, 4:41 am] Dr Vishnu: Now i tell you something about this phone on which we are talking together
[09/07, 4:41 am] Meta AI: I'm all ears! Please go ahead and share what you'd like about the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. Your thoughts, experiences, or anything you'd like to discuss – I'm here to listen and respond! Go ahead!
[09/07, 4:42 am] Dr Vishnu: This phone rarely gives the correct current location.
[09/07, 4:42 am] Meta AI: That's frustrating! The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has a GPS chip and should provide accurate location services. There could be various reasons for the inconsistent location accuracy, such as:

- Weak GPS signal strength
- Interference from buildings or terrain
- Outdated software or firmware
- Issues with the GPS sensor itself
- Settings configurations

Try these troubleshooting steps:

- Check your location settings and ensure GPS is enabled
- Update your phone's software and GPS firmware
- Reset your location settings to default
- Perform a phone restart
- Check for any physical damage or obstruction near the GPS antenna (usually located on the top of the phone)

If issues persist, consider visiting a Samsung service center or contacting their support for further assistance!
[09/07, 4:44 am] Dr Vishnu: Even on whatsapp too, it doesn't provide correct current location
[09/07, 4:44 am] Meta AI: That's interesting! The location issue seems to be a broader problem, not just limited to the phone's built-in GPS functionality. WhatsApp uses the phone's location services to share your current location with contacts. If the phone's location services are inaccurate, WhatsApp will also show the wrong location.

Have you tried resetting the location settings or recalibrating the GPS? Sometimes, this can resolve the issue. If not, you may want to consider performing a phone software reset or seeking assistance from Samsung support.

Additionally, you can try reinstalling WhatsApp or checking if other location-based apps are also experiencing similar issues. This will help determine if the problem is specific to WhatsApp or a broader phone-related issue.
[09/07, 4:44 am] Dr Vishnu: On Ola app also
[09/07, 4:44 am] Meta AI: So, the location issue is not just limited to WhatsApp, but also affects other apps like Ola (a ride-hailing service) that rely on the phone's location services. This suggests that the problem is likely related to the phone's GPS or location services rather than a specific app issue.

Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

- Check if your phone's location services are enabled and set to "High accuracy" mode.
- Ensure that your phone has a clear view of the sky, as GPS signals can be weakened by buildings or terrain.
- Try resetting your phone's location services or performing a phone restart.
- If you're in a building or area with poor GPS signal strength, try moving to a more open location.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be worth visiting a Samsung service center or contacting their support for further assistance, as the problem could be related to the phone's hardware or software.
[09/07, 4:48 am] Dr Vishnu: Yesterday, it happened with ola app in Delhi near Bhikaji Comma place. Somedays ago in Mumbai it happened on Whatsapp in Mathuradass Colony and many other times in the past at different places.
[09/07, 4:48 am] Meta AI: It seems like the issue is recurring and not specific to a particular location or app. The fact that it has happened in different places, including Delhi and Mumbai, suggests that the problem is likely with your phone's GPS or location services rather than a specific app or location.

Given that you've experienced this issue multiple times in various locations, it's possible that there's a hardware or software problem with your phone's GPS capabilities. I would recommend visiting a Samsung authorized service center or contacting their support to have your phone checked and potentially repaired or replaced.

Additionally, you may want to try resetting your phone's GPS settings or performing a factory reset to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, it may be worth considering upgrading to a new phone with improved GPS capabilities.
[09/07, 4:49 am] Dr Vishnu: I have noticed that in case of current location or your location generally it gives the last visted location instead of the current location.
[09/07, 4:50 am] Meta AI: That's a great observation! It sounds like your phone's location services might be experiencing a caching issue, where it's retaining the last known location instead of updating to the current location. This could be due to a software glitch or a problem with the GPS chip.

When you notice this happening, try restarting your phone or disabling and re-enabling location services to see if it refreshes the location. If the issue persists, it might be worth performing a factory reset or visiting a Samsung service center for further assistance.

It's also possible that this issue is related to a specific software bug or firmware issue, which might be resolved with a future update. Keep an eye on Samsung's software updates and install them as they become available.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help with!
[09/07, 4:54 am] Dr Vishnu: Is there any setting in GPS or in this phone that i should look into at my level for opting so that such instances shouldn't occur.
[09/07, 4:54 am] Meta AI: Yes, there are a few settings you can check and adjust to potentially improve your phone's GPS accuracy and prevent instances of showing the last known location instead of the current location:

1. *Location settings*:
    - Go to Settings > Location > Location services
    - Ensure that "Location" or "GPS" is enabled
    - Set "Location mode" to "High accuracy" (this uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks to determine your location)
2. *GPS settings*:
    - Go to Settings > Location > GPS
    - Ensure that "GPS" is enabled
    - Look for options like "GPS reset" or "GPS recalibration" and try resetting it
3. *Location permissions*:
    - Go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp (or other apps that use location services)
    - Ensure that "Location" permission is granted
4. *Cache clearing*:
    - Regularly clear the cache and data of the Location services and GPS apps to prevent data accumulation and potential issues

By checking and adjusting these settings, you may be able to improve your phone's GPS accuracy and reduce instances of showing the last known location instead of the current location. If issues persist, it's still recommended to visit a Samsung service center or contact their support for further assistance.
[09/07, 5:07 am] Dr Vishnu: If i clear catche, it will remove all old locations. One person, a driver of ola, suggested me to search location by texting and then selecting from one of the prompted ones instead of choosing current location. By doing so once, twice, the Ola app will automatically start capturing the location when asked next time. I don't know how much correct, but 2 occasions it was ok. However, it has a problem when i am at a random location and i don't know the name of location then i don't have option except seeking current location.
And if cache is cleared, i am afraid that old locations will not be available to be chosen.
[09/07, 5:07 am] Meta AI: That's a clever suggestion from the Ola driver! By searching and selecting a location from the prompted options, you're essentially refreshing the location data and helping the app to update its cache. This might indeed help improve the location accuracy in the short term.

Regarding clearing the cache, you're right that it will remove old locations. If you rely on those saved locations, it's understandable that you wouldn't want to clear the cache.

In situations where you're at a random location and don't know the name, it's true that seeking current location is the only option. In such cases, you might want to try a combination of steps:

- Try searching for nearby landmarks or popular locations to see if they appear in the search results.
- If not, try using the "Search location" feature to enter the nearest address or landmark you know.
- If all else fails, you can try restarting the app or your phone to see if it refreshes the location data.

Keep in mind that GPS accuracy can vary depending on various factors like satellite signal strength, building density, and more. If issues persist, it's still a good idea to visit a Samsung service center or contact their support for further assistance.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need further help!
